I had gallbladder removed and then thyroid due to cancerous nodule. On synthroid 88mcg. I’ve gained 30 pounds, have no motivation, read lots on websites but don’t know who to believe. My levels are “normal” according to dr. Started gluten free diet – no change and very frustrated. Can supplements help? If so which ones?ive heard probiotics, bcomplex, d3/k2. A to name a few. I’ve just want to feel normal again. Please help .

YOu either need to be dosed according to your weight, correctly, like the packaging says, or you need to switch to naturally dessicated thyroid, like Armour, or ND Thyroid and be dosed correctly according to your weight like the packaging says.

And if your doctor won’t listen to you, then you need to find a new doctor. I fired 10 before I found one that would listen to me. I pay out of pocket and go to a functional doctor now.

  2. I stumbled across this as I was looking for more info on my hypothyroidism. I didn’t understand the whole body connection. I have problems with my gallbladder. This article opened my eyes to more than my PCP or gastroenterologist every told me. My PCP is treating me with levothyroxine, however I want more information than I was originally given by him. Knowledge is power. Thanks again for this article.

    Hi Dana

Thank you for the information, it was a good read! I have Hashimoto’s, Pernicious anaemia and Feritin anaemia. Also Asthma and allergic rhinitis. Tiredness is now an understatement, it is more like chronic fatigue which has led to depression and anxiety. 47 now. Just thought I’d share 🙂
