I’m perimenopause and hypothyroid. Ladies, if you can’t lose weight get your hormones checked. Your thyroid needs to be stable.

I had a double mastectomy and a 15 hour DIEP Flap reconstruction surgery (total of five surgeries). I cannot take estrogen and am suffering from debilitating hot flashes, fatigue and I am grossly overweight (65 yrs, 5’4” & 200 lbs). I am trying AGAIN with little results. Please help!!

    1. Sister, find a functional medicine dr who will take all of your labs and give you a proper dose of thyroid meds. It’s so tough. I’ve been there. Keep searching for answers. The right meds will change things.

    2. I hope your situation is better as I see this is 5 months old. I thought I was reading about myself!!. You are not alone.I am finding many women with our symptoms.I am 61 and have had thyroid disease since 34. My thyroid put me through lots this past year with my doctor changing it 3 times. It’s hard to make those without thyroid to understand it’s rollercoaster..Hold on and don’t give up. Make habits !!! Stay in the fight to be in control ..and for me it was realizing that everything effects this dastardly little control freak of our body..I had no idea🤔educating myself has made such a diff erence for me..Be well Sara🙋
