I’m in Canada and thankfully my doctor willingly prescribes ERFA Thyroid. However, I still suffer with all of the symptoms of low thyroid. All my blood work comes back as “normal” but I don’t feel even remotely normal. I’m currently on 120mg of thyroid medication but feel like I should be taking more. Of course, because of my bloodwork, the doctor won’t prescribe a higher dose. What now? Is there anything I can do, or is there somewhere where I can purchase NDT? Would it be good practise to slowly increase the thyroid medication until I hit the threshold (ie. start experiencing hyper symptoms) and then back the dosage down to where I no longer experience any hyper symptoms?

    Hi!
I’m treated with synthroid 75 mcg/day. My TSH is normal. Recently I developed N-M symptoms and was referred to a Neurologist who did a ton of lab work on me. The lab test that was abnormal was the thyroid perixidase. It was 900 (nl is < 9).
I’m wondering what this means! Would it help me to go on the DTH?

I wonder if an increase in my NDT irrespective of my so called normal blood results, will help with my ever increasing thinning hair?

Ihad my thyroid removed in June of this year, but still feeling no better. They keep changing the amount of my tablets. have you any suggestions about how to get my health back after the removal of my thyroid.

    1. I have NO thyroid and take Levothyroxine. I take my medication at the same time each morning with water only, and then take nothing for at least an hour. Always, I avoid all soy, coffee, and high-iron foods like spinach. I only drink milk products at night, because they are full of Vitamin D and Calcium. I only take vitamins and D supplements at night. These things helped me.
