This poem. It’s about hypothyroidism and it’s perfect.
I’ll be okay – a poem I wrote about hypothyroidism.
I’ll be okay, but my memory is not all there.
I’ll be okay, but I live in despair.
I’ll be okay, but I can never find the energy.
I’ll be okay, it’s part of my identity.
I’ll be okay, but my muscles do ache.
I’ll be okay, if only for my children’s sake.
I’ll be okay, but to get up is a struggle.
I’ll be okay, despite all this trouble.
I’ll be okay, my bloods say I’m “normal”
I’ll be okay, although I may dawdle.
I’ll be okay, even when words come out wrong.
I’ll be okay, though it’s hard to be strong.
I’ll be okay, days I rise and days I fall.
I’ll be okay, even when I’m not even a little bit, not even at all.
A short poem I have written detailing daily symptoms living with Hypothyroidism for the past 8 years. It’s a subject very close to my heart and it was wonderful to be able to articulate the feelings into a poem.

It’s ok because my ties and my finder are ice cold and my skin is dry to the bone
And my weight is up and down
My fingers and feet always ice cold
The poem made me cry. It just nailed it for me. Thank you. ❤️🙏
