In reply to <a href="https://hypothyroidmom.com/autoimmune-dis-ease-the-power-of-i-believe/#comment-2630">Barbara Dumke</a>.

I’m 64 yrs old and have always been thin in 6 weeks I put on 35lbs I almost starved myself the 7th week and put on 5 more pounds. I had been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis A disease which was found after I was in a bad car accident and while checking my spine saw something on my liver. So when I started gaining weight and had many symptoms such as well basically ALL of the symbols I was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease. Started on the meds ( generic) for 4 months and NOTHING! Another
Dr suggested getting the brand name so now I’ve been on it for about 45 day and no change. The liver Dr said my liver autoimmune disease is now dormant. No one has ever mentioned a gluten free diet and I’m about to lose it with not able to lose a pound. I’m tired of people saying oh just stay in your meds my ( cousin, friend, neighbor, whoever) was fine after taking the meds. Hashimoto disease is not just regular hypothyroidism it’s my living nightmare! This is the first time I’ve seen anything close to the truth about this disease and how it makes a person feel. I’m going to now start a new way of life ... gluten free living, I hope it helps my weight and all the other symptoms. Thanks for sharing
